Last year my daughter was in kindergarten, but couldn’t read until the end of the year. I started the first day of school by putting a note in her lunch, thinking one of the lunch monitors would read it for her. She came home that afternoon and told me matter of factly that she couldn’t read my note (and didn’t seem to care about it).
