Wednesday’s Word: Stewardship

by Alecia on January 25, 2012

I thought it would be really fun to start a new series focused on expanding our vocabulary and spicing up our conversations!  Each Wednesday I’ll be introducing you to a new word, which we’ll call Wednesday’s Word. I hope you have as much fun with this series as I’m planning to!

It is only appropriate that we kick this whole thing off with one of the most important words on this blog, which some of you may not know the meaning of.  Friends, I’d like to formally introduce you to …

stew·ard·ship

[stoo-erd-ship]

noun

    1. the position and duties of a steward, a person who acts as the surrogate of another or others, especially by managing property, financial affairs, an estate, etc.
    2. the responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving: New regulatory changes will result in better stewardship of lands that are crucial for open space and wildlife habitat.

Share this week’s vocabulary word with your friends by clicking the Twitter or Facebook icon below!  I’d love for you to use this word in a virtual sentence!  If you do, be sure to tag @savings_steward on Twitter or Savings & Stewardship on Facebook so I can see it!

Do you have a great word that just isn’t circulated enough these days? Leave it in the comments & I’ll definitely take it into consideration when posting upcoming Wednesday’s Words!
