Renae from How to Have it All has some great Meal Planning tips - especially for How to Create a Menu Plan! Be sure to pop over and read her post!
I remember reading a few other blogs who would talk about "meal planning" and thinking That's no fun! Where's the creativity? Sounds like a lot of work for a boring return! Not me - never. Well, I was SO wrong!! I found that out last year when I gave meal planning a try and discovered that it enabled me to be MORE creative, freed up my afternoons from wondering what was for dinner and allowed me to reduce the stress around dinnertime! Of course, it also helped our grocery budget! No more last minute runs to the grocery store to pay an outrageous price for those few ingredients; no more going over the dining-out budget because I'm too lazy or ill-prepared to make dinner; no more storing those someday recipes to never be made!
Granted, we still have our issues - especially when I do not meal plan for a week (like last week), but on the weeks that I do, my life is exponentially easier!

I have been using the sheets from mommytrackd.com, I can't remember which blog turned me on to them. I print 4-5 up at a time, and as meal ideas come to me, or a get a great sale on meat etc I find a space and plug in the meal and the required ingreidents. This keeps me from sitting there on Monday night before I shop and going, now what should we eat. I actually have meals planned out 2 weeks right now with 2 other weeks 1/2 way filled in, and our variety has increased. Plus my list is very specific when I shop, and I can add in sales etc. So far it's working for me. I do need to stash a few, oh crud, no cooking things in my freezer though
