National Children’s Dental Health Month + Dinosaur Train Toothbrush *GIVEAWAY*

by Alecia on February 3, 2012

Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. This year’s theme is “Rock Your Smile.”

To help you and your children “Rock Your Smile,” The Jim Henson Company is partnering with Sunstar Americas, Inc., who has just launched brand new Dinosaur Train themed toothbrushes! With the emphasis on making brushing fun for young children, Sunstar Americas, Inc. is featuring Buddy and Tiny on a new GUM® twin pack toothbrush set, available this spring at Meijer, H-E-B, and online at Gumbrand.com.

Follow these helpful tips for strong teeth and a healthy smile!

    • Twice a day: Brush your teeth when you wake up and before you go to bed.
    • Take your time: Brush your teeth for 2 minutes and be sure to include your tongue!
    • Be kind to your gums: Brush with a soft bristle toothbrush.
    • Get the hard to reach places: Floss your teeth every day.
    • See your dentist twice a year!

Here are some FREE printable and downloadable resources -

And if you want to see Buddy learning about his teeth, please tune into Dinosaur Train on March 1 on PBS KIDS to watch the “T-Rex Teeth” episode (check your local listings)!

Plus, use the easy form below to enter to win a Set of 2 G.U.M. Dinosaur Train Toothbrushes!

My daughter’s 9. I’m not sure that she “enjoys” brushing her teeth, but she’s very good about remembering. She sure enjoys going out for ice cream on No Cavity days at the dentist’s office, though! =)

I am so happy my three year old son is doing so great when it comes to brushing his teeth! He also loves using the floss to get the germs out :) He had a great first dentist appointment and we are hoping the best for his second visit very soon!

Both of my girls LOVE brushing their teeth! The littlest one want to carry her toothbrush everywhere she goes. We have no tricks for making it more….I don’t think it could be MORE fun for them!

They do like it and we make fun of it. We also do super fast when we do the front teeth which is the end of the brushing and they know it’s almost over.

I do most of the brushing for my boys…they don’t dislike it, but don’t really look forward to it either, lol. I try to find fun toothbrushes and toothpaste!
