I am so excited that Universal Studios Entertainment is sponsoring a Girl's Movie Night for me and some girlfriends to have a special pre-release Bridesmaids screening party at my house tomorrow night!!! I saw this movie in the theater, and while it is not for the faint of heart, I thought it was absolutely hysterical!! The movie doesn't come out until Tuesday, September 20th, though you can pre-order the DVD or Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack now, so the chance for this advanced screening is super cool!
I got my party pack in the mail yesterday which included an advanced copy of Bridesmaids on DVD, so Chris and I watched it last night. This was Chris' first time seeing the movie and I thought he was going to die from laughter through the whole movie! He actually turned pink from lack of breath at one point. It really is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Please take note that the movie is rated R and does contain some rough language & extremely crude humor, but all quite laughable :).
To prep for my party tomorrow night, I've mapped out a dessert and themed-beverage menu! We'll be having some adorable "Popcorn Cupcakes" and "Butterfly Cupcakes" that I found in my Hello, Cupcake cookbook. Plus, I'll be making my world-famous Caramel Popcorn and recreating a friend's Chocolate Berry Trifle that was once made for me at my own bridal shower! To make the beverages easy, we'll be having a fun non-alcoholic concoction (maybe fresh, homemade strawberry lemonade) and glasses of Verdi with fresh raspberries in it for those wanting a little kick!
Universal sent me streamers and balloons in bright, hot pink and black to decorate, but I'm going to get a little creative with them & make some crepe paper flowers & bows! I'll also be taking the balloons to a local party store to have them blown up because my little girls will enjoy playing with them after the party!!
To help throw this awesome party but still stick to a frugal budget, I sent out the invites by creating a Facebook Event (always easy & free). I'll also be using some coupons & gift cards to make the party favors, which I'm currently thinking will be hot pink nail polish with a small ribbon tied around them. Sometimes simple is not only frugal, but elegant and much appreciated! I do reserve the right to change my mind if I find something cuter at the store tonight :).
I'll keep you all posted as I prep for the party tomorrow, so make sure you're following me on Facebook & Twitter! I'll also be posting a party follow-up next week to give you the complete low-down on the event - because even though you can't all fit into my living room tomorrow night, I'd love to include you in the festivities as much as possible :).
You can create your own girl's movie night, too!! First step is to order the movie from Amazon :).
- Bridesmaids (DVD) - $16.99
- Bridesmaids (2-disc Blu-Ray / DVD / Digital Copy) - $25.00
- Bridesmaids (Amazon Video on Demand Rental) - $3.99
* This is a sponsored post: Universal Studios Entertainment provided me with a copy of Bridesmaids on DVD, a gift pack, and a gift card in order to host a pre-release screening party. All opinions are my own.

This movie was one of my absolute favorites. I am definitely going to add it to my collection. I can always use a laugh.
