Kanzi Crafts: East African Crafts for a Cause

We talk a lot about "stewardship" here - which can mean something slightly different for each family.  The bottom line is to make sure that you're using your resources appropriately (whatever that might mean for you).  For lots of us, a core part of this stewardship is to use our financial resources sparingly on our own wants and needs so that that we can be a blessing to others who may not be as fortunate.  I've talked about the importance of ministry money before, and am excited to introduce you all to a new way that you can spend that ministry money in a win/win transaction!

KANZI® is a for-profit initiative of Pearl Ministries. Their goal is to help artisans and business partners in East Africa grow sustainable markets. They provide their customers with an opportunity to buy a unique and beautiful fair trade craft while helping to support artisans and business partners through your purchase.

Many of their products are made from recycled materials or natural resources which also promotes wise stewardship of the earth’s resources.

KANZI donates a portion of our proceeds to Pearl Ministries every year to support their work with orphanage ministries in Uganda. To learn more about their work, please visit their website: www.PearlMinistries.org. KANZI also gives portion of it’s products to Pearl Ministries’ jewelry party fundraisers and a large selection of Christmas ornaments to the seasonal fundraiser Ornaments4Orphans. To learn how you can host a jewelry party or sponsor an Ornaments4Orphans tree visit the About Our Cause page.

I hope you guys will pop over and take a look at the Kanzi shop!  Pearl Ministries was started and is run by some dear friends of mine & I wholly support their mission and efforts! I hope you'll consider doing the same. Last year for Christmas, we included a small gift from the Kanzi artisans and a business card for Pearl Ministries to our family and friends - it was a great way to minister to our friends without turning them away at the mention of Jesus ... and the perfect outlet for our seasonal ministry money!  All of the products, and the purpose of the organization, were met with overwhelming excitement!
