Before I start this post, I want to make sure all of you are sitting down.  I have a feeling there is about to be a lot of excitement, screaming, and jumping up & down.  This is a SodaStream review & GIVEAWAY post. (yep, I can hear you screaming)  If you’re not familiar with SodaStream, put your belt on because you’re in for a sweet ride (of education, excitement, and saving money)!

My husband for months has fallen into the I-want-one-so-badly category.  He’s been listening to radio ads and drooling over in-store displays of the SodaStream relentlessly.  So, of course, when I heard that SodaStream was sending reps to BlogHer this past summer, I knew that I just had to track them down and see if they would allow our family to review this oh-so-awesome contraption!

Our Review -

First off, the SodaStream system is SO easy.  I mean “Wow, is that really it?!” kind of easy!  Even my (almost) 5/yo was able to make a liter of soda from start to finish with very, very little help from us!  My elaborate (cough) collage above shows you just how easy it is!  Easy of use is a big factor for me – and the SodaStream definitely passed the test!

When it comes to flavor, I think personal preference plays a big part.  The nice part is that with the SodaStream, you have the ability to customize each bottle to your own preferences!  We’ve decided that, as a family, we prefer 4 “squirts” of fizz. The instructions recommended to start with 3, but after trying it, we wanted a little more fizz.  Problem solved.  As far as sweetness, I like my drinks a little less sweet where my husband likes them bursting with flavor.  I add a little less syrup, and he uses the recommended dose.  Problem solved.

You can choose from over 100 flavors of sodas, drinks, waters, etc!!  Everyone will find their favorite!  I was amazed at the variety – they have everything from your standard and wide-spread Cola flavors, diet options, flavored water options, energy drinks, lemonades, teas, and so much more!!!  Each of their flavors will tell you what they’re comparable to, so no worries about not knowing which one is “Mountain Dew”.  Plus, you can buy the flavored syrups just about anywhere – including Walmart!

All in all, we’re pleased with the SodaStream!  We don’t drink soda a lot, but do enjoy it on a special occasion or when having company over, so it has been nice to just pull out the SodaStream flavors and be able to make our drinks as needed!  No wasted opened bottles in the fridge!  Whether your family drinks a lot of soda (which means that the SodaStream would save you a lot of money) or you prefer a flavored drink once in awhile (which means that the SodaStream would mean you always have options when you want something), I’m sure you’d get a lot of use out of an affordable SodaStream!!
