In the midst of this day of crazy spending and rushing for the best deal (which I am most guilty of), I wanted to take a moment and pause so we can all remember WHY we’re celebrating this season … and how our reason can change the world. I’m not talking about handing out Jesus-tracks at the local truck stop, or inviting your friends to the candle-light service on Christmas Eve. I’m talking about giving … of yourself, your time, your energy, and your money. It was one of the most powerful ways that Jesus shared with us His story of the world … He gave. Of Himself. Himself. Gave it all.
So, this season, as we wade through the massive consumerism … and as I cause you to stumble through it all … try to remember that if you scaled back, even a bit, you could make a major impact on our world. You could be the reason someone lives to see the New Year. You could be the reason others give thanks. You could be the reason that someone knows the real reason for this season.
