April had a few more questions from Do you know my first name? and they are probably ones that the rest of you have wondered as well, so I'm excited to answer!
"Just thought of a few more questions - when did you begin blogging - couponing - etc? What inspired you to do so? Would you ever consider sharing your personal testimony on the blog? - Again - I could go on......you shouldn't have let me get started."
I started blogging a few years ago, when my first daughter was born. My mom knew this young couple at church who blogged about their newborn baby and such, and since she lived far away, she nagged relentlessly gently encouraged us to start our own. I think I updated it twice in two years! Then last summer, I found this great blog, Saving Cents with Sense, all about frugality! Melissa, the author, was so sweet and so helpful, and I kept coming back to her site over and over, amazed by the things she found and ways she was able to save money. I started doing some of my own research, learning the ropes of this new ultra-frugal lifestyle (I have always used coupons & been devoted to a life of stewardship), and emailing my friends and family all about my finds. Eventually, my friend Beth suggested that I start my own blog. I thought about it, talked it over with my husband, and decided it would be a fun way to stay in touch with family and friends, share my new found excitement for all things free and cheap, and have an outlet for my creative (and adult-starved) attentions.
Thus, last July, this blog was born.
I have loved blogging ever since - and am so glad that we started it! I have made tons of new friends, been able to share my personal enthusiasm for frugal living and financial stewardship, and been able to find a way to stay sane as a new (stay-at-home) mommy! :)
I would definitely be willing to share my personal testimony on this blog. I'm not sure that we're quite "there" yet in our relationship, though :). For now, I'll just say that I was raised by my amazing mom, with two older sisters and a younger brother. My mom is an awesome Christian woman who was committed to raising us to be followers of Jesus. All four of us children are Christians, striving to live according to God's Word.
Do you have a blog (of any kind)?! If so, I'd LOVE for you to leave me a link so I can come visit!! What made you start couponing? Have you always been frugal, have recent economic circumstances given you a little boost in that direction? Tell me about yourself!
* Is there a burning question you'd love to ask me (about anything, not just coupons), then leave me a comment and I'll be happy to answer it in a blog post!

I've always been really cheap. Err... I mean frugal. But raising 3 kids on 1 income (and wanting more kids) has made frugality a necessity. Plus, it's a fun hobby of mine to see how much I can save by being a black-belt-cheapskate. Lame, huh? :-)
Oh, and half the reason I'm so frugal is so I can someday afford to buy a big old farmhouse on 25 acres of land. I can picture it now. Oh, that pond looks nice....
Thanks for your story! I started my blogging about frugal finds over 3 years ago. I started couponing as a way to be a stay at home mom with my kids. I always worked full time and when i looked at my budget, the only thing I could reduce was my grocery budget. Thus my coupon adventure started. I blogged in Charlotte, NC for 2 years then recently moved back to New York and moved my blog here. I love being able to share my enthusiasm too for saving money, hopefully other mommies who have to work can see this as a way to stay at home with their babies too!
Alecia, you are so sweet! I've enjoyed seeing your site grow and it is fun to get to know you more :) I look forward to meeting you someday! :)
I don't have a blog and haven't been seriously couponing for long - but have been excessively frugal (well, since marriage). No one really wants those details. Anyhow, I'm not a mommy but work full-time in mental health - our two children are furry and have four legs. Not much else to tell.
i'm so glad you DID start this blog, friend!:-)
