Orglamix Review & Giveaway!!

Orglamix Review:

I recently had the pleasure of testing out some cool organic makeup products from Orglamix.  Orglamix is an Etsy shop that sells an entire line of organic makeup.  The products are made without "nano particles, bismuth oxychloride, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals or parabens."  Cheri is the shop owner and makeup creator.  She hand mixes each item and has such a unique and beloved product that she has acquired quite a loyal following!  I am happy to count myself as the newest member of this fan group!

Cheri sent me three eye shadow colors to review: Wild Rose, Wisteria, & Cafe au Lait.  First of all, I love the color selection that she has on her shop!  Every color and shade of the rainbow is there - over 200 exclusive colors!  So, take your pick.  Secondly, I love the specific colors that I received, especially the Wisteria - it is light pink and very sparkly!  The Wild Rose is pink as well, but the color is more flat.  The Cafe au Lait is a great light, year-round shade, which shimmers nicely.  I love that her products are very easy to wear!  I'm not a big "makeup" person (oh, I can hear the giggles through the computer - I'm on the verge of being an anti-makeup person).  I do like to occasionally wear a few staple items like mascara, eye shadow, & lip gloss.  I'm not into being heavily made over, though, and have always preferred the natural look.  Cheri's shadows are so versatile that they would work for both!  For a lighter look, lightly brush on with a dry brush, or for a heavier, bolder look, dab your brush in a bit of water first, wipe to eliminate excess moisture, and "paint" the shadow on.  I tried both and loved the look of each, but for very different occasions, of course.

The biggest reason that I was drawn to these products was because they are great for sensitive skin!  I have very easily irritated skin, and the few times that I wore the eye shadow over the past week, I did not have any issues.  I love that, in a few years, my daughters can tinker with my makeup and I won't have to worry about their delicate skin either!

The eye shadows are very fine powder and the cases do have rather large holes in the top, so care needs to be taken with opening, closing, and applying the product.  I was actually impressed with how long the color lasted; I was sure it would wear off within a few minutes, but I was wrong.  Even after being in the sun for hours, chasing my daughter around at the birthday party of a neighbor boy, my eye shadow was still gorgeous!  The only criticism that I have is that I wish the shadows would have come with a brush.  Not being a big makeup user, I only have one very ragged eye shadow brush, and I think these specific products require a brush (or brushes) devoted all to themselves.  It might just be me, but when I want a flat color, I hate having to use a brush dowsed in sparkles, and when I want a light, fresh look, I hate using a brush covered in a bold shade.
